How It Started
The Bubbly Type was born in January 2021, a bright spark in the middle of a global lockdown, founded by Australian graphic designer Nicole Jayne. With the world feeling a little grey, Nicole turned to her passion for creative lettering, hoping to sprinkle some joy and positivity through her hand-drawn quotes on Instagram. What started as a small, uplifting project quickly gained momentum, thanks to the encouragement and love from her followers, family, and friends.
Inspired by the outpouring of support, Nicole decided to take the plunge and turn The Bubbly Type into a full-fledged business. At first, the focus was on creating one-of-a-kind, personalised gifts featuring her unique hand-lettering style—think analog calligraphy and brush lettering, long before Nicole discovered how awesome Procreate and iPads are for drawing. Through The Bubbly Type, Nicole found the perfect outlet to let her creativity flow, evolving her art into the joyful lettering and digital illustrations that are adored by many today.
As time went on, Nicole expanded her offerings, introducing stickers, prints, and other delightful merchandise to her Etsy store. The launch of The Bubbly Type's Sun Catcher Window stickers in May 2021 marked a significant turning point, propelling the brand to new heights. Within just a few months, The Bubbly Type grew beyond her wildest dreams.
Today, The Bubbly Type is a vibrant world of original art products, all designed to bring a smile to your face. From colourful greeting cards to uplifting sun catcher designs, Nicole's creations have found their way into homes in over seven countries, bringing joy to more than 11.2k beautiful souls worldwide.
