Handmade Canberra Market Recap: Our First Interstate Adventure š
March 21ā22 marked something pretty special for usā¦
Our very first interstate market š„¹ (yes, there were nerves⦠and snacks⦠lots of snacks).
We packed up The Bubbly Type, crossed state lines, and headed to Canberra for the incredible Handmade Canberra Market and wow, what a weekend it turned out to be.

š First Interstate Market = Equal Parts Exciting + Nerve-Wracking
Heading into our first interstate market felt a bit like the first day of school⦠but with more packing boxes and greeting cards. There were definitely some āwhat ifā moments leading up to it. A new city, new crowd, new everything, but the second we arrived, those nerves started to melt away.
TheĀ Handmade Canberra team were absolute stars. Everything was so well organised, smooth, and they were genuinely supportive people. It made such a difference and allowed me to actually enjoy the experience instead of stressing behind the table.
And then came the best partā¦
š Meeting You (and So Many New Faces!)
One of the most special things about markets will always be the peopleĀ and this one did not disappoint.
We met so many lovely humans over the weekend. Most discovering The Bubbly Type for the very first time, others stopping for a chat, a browse, or to find the perfect little feel good treat.
Thereās something really magical about watching someone pick up your artwork, smile, and sayĀ āI love it!ā. Thatās the whole reason we do this š„¹

š Fun Little Weekend Stats
Because we love a cute recap moment, hereās how the weekend shaped up:
šļø Total items sold: 302 (!!! still not over this)
Best Sellers:
- š Assorted Postcards ā 126 sold
- š Mystery Bags (market exclusive!) ā 13 sold

Honestly⦠postcards absolutely ran the show. A quiet icon.
⨠So⦠Would We Do It Again?
In a heartbeat!
What started as something a little nerve-wracking turned into one of the most rewarding, inspiring weekends weāve had.
From the beautifully curated stalls to the supportive community and all the wonderful customers we met, it felt like such a special space to be part of.
Safe to say⦠weāre already dreaming about the next interstate adventure šĀ

š Thank You (Always)
